It’s one of those nights
It’s a restless night.
And all I can think about is the sea and poetry.
I slept better when it rocked me.
I wanted to remember:
The way the ocean looks at different times of the day
Your sweet smile at this tender age.
The way the yarn works all worries away
How fast the time passes in every way.
I wanted to remember:
Perspective is key.
That depth is beauty and how we see.
Your hands when they hold on to me.
And the wrinkles that form happily.
I’m caught in it again: this urge - THE urge -
Like my heart will burst if I don’t create
It’s like the weather follows suit -
The mood I’m in: it ebbs and broods
The clouds, the sky, the way the rain hits the pane
The way it looks within the flurries
I’m glad it’s not sunny today.
If it was, my heart might just break.
I want to stand outside.
I want the rain to fall against my pride.
